Nollywood veteran Amaechi Muonagor passes away at the age of 62.

Renowned Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor has succumbed to kidney failure at the age of 62.

The esteemed actor, known for his memorable roles in the film industry, passed away after battling the illness.

The sudden loss of Muonagor has shocked many, especially following the circulation of a viral video online. The video featured a family member appealing for financial assistance to support the actor’s kidney transplant.

Despite concerted efforts to raise funds for his medical treatment, Muonagor’s health continued to decline, leading to his premature demise.

The news of his passing was announced by social commentator Otunba via his X handle on Sunday, March 24th, 2024.

He wrote; “Sad news. Nollywood legend, Amaechi Muonagor is dead, may his soul rest in peace 🙏🏼🙏🏼.”

He served as both an actor and a producer. In 2016, he received a nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy at the AMVCA 2017.

Following his youth service in 1989, Muonagor began his career at the News Agency of Nigeria. However, he later transitioned into acting, leaving his job to pursue his passion. His debut role came a few years later when he portrayed Akunatakasi in “Taboo 1,” a Nigerian film.
