Nigerian artist, Damini Ogulu Ebunoluwa, widely recognized as Burna Boy, has once again taken shots at his fellow musician, Brymo, in his latest track.
Burna Boy ignited a debate with his sly jab at Brymo, demonstrating his audacious approach and witty wordplay during a rehearsal session with his band, Outsiders, in an impromptu performance.
In his lyrics, the ‘City Boys’ hit maker said, “I’m a son of gangster while you’re son of a carpenter,” prompting fans and critics to dissect the underlying meaning.”
Fans theorized that Burna Boy aimed his words directly at Brymo, particularly in light of Brymo’s second studio album release titled ‘Son of a Kapenta’ in November 2012.
Recalling past events, tensions between Burna Boy and Brymo escalated when Brymo accused Burna Boy of plagiarism. He claimed that Burna Boy’s tracks ‘City Boys’ and ‘I Told Them’ sampled the title track of Brymo’s upcoming album, ‘Macabre’.
Before long, Burna Boy released a freestyle video, urging fans to work hard to avoid falling off like Brymo. Their feud sparked uproar among social media users.
In the latest turn of events, the self-made ‘Odogwu’ didn’t relent and persisted in criticizing Brymo through his music lyrics.
